Leaders are different from managers or supervisors. The power of the leader for example comes from the person while the manager's comes from the position. The leader also promotes creativity and change, while the manager promotes stability and order. Providing vision and passion to the organization is a leader's task, while the manager provides problem-solving and rational analysis to the organization. The leader also focuses on people, while the manager focuses on systems. (...)
Remember what Donald H. McGannon said about leadership : 'Leadership is action, not position.' We may not all be born to positions of leadership, but by our actions, we can become leaders.'
